The 4th of July is definitely starting to be one of my favorite holidays. I spent most of my day manning the grill and sitting in the 12 foot pool that we found at Big Lots (best purchase I have made all year). I am thankful for all the great friends that showed up and for the Hog Slop guys for playing some music for us. America!

It’s been awhile since we have printed anything over at The Creative Hustle, it’s been kind of a slow summer and sometimes it seems like we are the only ones that really enjoy what we do. Well this morning much to my surprise I got a little jewel in our PO Box, Rachel Silvia from Portland OR sent us some fan mail (if you want to call it that). She did a great little screen printed piece for her graduation show and sent it to us along with a nice little note about how she likes our work and a picture of our posters on her wall. Well it more than made my day to say the least, affirmation is not always needed but when its random and genuine it makes what we do, what I do so much better. I love my life in moments like these.

I realize that I am a bad blogger, I spend so much time working on my computer that the thought of being social on it is somewhat daunting. There has been a lot going on lately, there was a flood in Nashville, a new job (I’ll elaborate more on this later), living in a new house, painting, photography, design… etc. Life has been really good lately, not much to complain about. Good friends, good food, good wine. I will write more, I will write more, I will write more… Maybe if I keep saying it, it will actually happen.

Currently listening to: Delta Spirit, Mumford and Sons and Empire of the Son… into it.

Europe trip day 3-8

The lack of internet has kept me from posting on my trip but so far this trip has just been an amazing experience. To see so many things in person that you had only previously seen before in movies or history books is really something hard to put into words. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone we have met along the way.

After leaving London we spent a few days in Salisbury England, to see Stonehenge and we made a new friend named Tobias, who was staying in the same hostel room with us. Tobias was from Denmark and had been traveling for the last month or so trying to figure out where he wanted to live. It was nice to get to know him for a few days and interesting to hear about Denmark.

We then left Salisbury and traveled by train to Luton to catch a plane to Spain. After traveling for about 12hrs straight and riding on just about every form of transportation imaginable (plane, train and automobile), we landed in Spain only to realize we had missed out train. By that time it was already 12 midnight and our only option was to spend the night on the street in front of the train station… AMAZING! I had never spent the night on the street but it was kinda fun. There where a lot of other foreigners that had missed there trains as well so we had plenty of company. That pretty much sums up the last 5 days, we are currently in Barcelona and it is raining outside. Hopefully we will have better weather the next couple of days we are here.

Interesting couple of weeks

I must say that I am a horrible blogger, and what makes it worst is that I keep saying I’m going be better about it but have yet to follow through. I guess my digital life has been on hold lately for the reality of the real one going on around me.

The last couple of weeks have been a great way to kick off the summer and get things going right. I took a trip back to California to see my family, go to a wedding and hang out with friends. It was a great week just spent hanging out and being mellow, I didn’t get to go surfing but there weren’t any waves that week to be missed out on so it wasn’t that bad. While I was there I found out that I’m going to Europe in July which is super exciting. Considering I have never been over seas before. I can’t wait!

Upon return from my week long stay I came home only to find out that Media Kamp ( the company I own) was going to loose one of our biggest clients, but after a couple of days of freaking out, I learned how amazing Gods grace is in my life. I will say that even when I don’t feel close to him he is always there, always inspiring, always giving, and always providing for me in ways that I can never fully grasp. Even when I don’t look to God for answers he still gives them to me…

And it just keeps getting better. The following weeks have been spent making some great new friends and building better relationships with old ones here in Nashville. Roller skating, pool time, birthdays (happy birthday Brent!) and dance parties have filled the last couple of weeks. Not to mention all the extra design work that has come in out of what seems like no where. It seems like this is going to be an amazing summer of growth for me and I must say that I am really excited about it!

Oh and I do have a sweet mustache now (I’ll post some picks of it when I get a chance).
