We have a little thing in southern California called the Santa Ana Winds, and with them they bring things like falling down trees, internet failure and FIRES! I woke up this morning to drive to Samy’s camera, when I hit Irvine the entire sky was covered with smoke. There are some crazy fires going on in Orange County, LA and San Diego today and a lot of people that will probably if not already loose there homes. Keep them in your prayers…. and don’t forget about all the little woodland creatures too!
Last night was the Superdrag and Lonely Hearts show and it was my first time seeing Superdrag play in the 10yrs that I have been a fan, it was AMAZING! Watching John Davis play guitar was so good, its been a long time since I have been to a show and couldn’t sit still because of how much I was moving and singing to the music. They played almost every song off of the Regretfully Yours record, a lot from Head Trip in Every Key and a few from In the Valley.
Ethan played guitar for the Lonely Hearts that night and traded off between playing 6 different guitars, lap steel, baritone, acoustic, electric and a few others. He is a very talented dude. It was a good night!
I flew out to Nashville last Tuesday, so here is a little bit of what I have been doing…
went to Grimey’s record store and got two “Q and not U” records that I have been searching for and an Elliot record that I have been trying to find for the last year, awesome!
this is my good friend Aaron, he likes to hit people with rolled up posters of Lauren Hill. The two girls in the photos are Molly and Beth, they are pretty sweet.
I spent the last couple of days just hanging out with Ethan, Kalle and Aaron. We are going to the Superdrag reunion show tonight which I am really excited for. They are one of my all time favorite bands and John Davis is one of nicest people I have ever met. Should be a good time.
